Topic: Football should be improved.
1) What do you mean by improve?
Of the game and the rules (worldwide): Improving here means: more exciting, more attractive and fairer.
Of the reporting (a German problem): Objective, exciting, audience-oriented, emotional. Don’t emphasise mistakes, but rather the best and highest performances.
2) Isn’t football the number one sport worldwide?
Football is the number 1.
3) Why is it number 1?
Football is the simplest game. All you need is a ball, two people and a small playing field. Every child kicks the ball even before it can pronounce the word. In this respect, there will always be football.
4) Is there nevertheless a responsibility towards this sport and its supporters?
The responsibility is to keep the game where it is, in position 1. To do this, the choice of means is not arbitrary. There are constant efforts to change, to improve. There are grievances recognised by FIFA, proposals for change discussed at all the regulars’ tables and in cafés, on the internet and in daily newspapers and magazines.
5) Are there other proposals than the ones currently being discussed?
There is a basic line of thought to which the reader should be introduced very conscientiously and carefully. Key points here are: Apply the current rules, is one demand, the other: For critical decisions, foul, handball, offside, goal, the demand is that it is not unanimously interpreted against the attackers.
